Company Milestones

1924: Budge’s “Golden Sunshine” Honey founded by Lawrence R. Budge in Malad, Idaho.
1932: Budge’s Honey sold at “The Market Spot”, forerunner of Harmons Grocery, a fruit stand located on the corner of 3300 South and Main Street in Salt Lake City.
1943: Budge’s Honey featured at Harmon’s Café in Salt Lake City, Utah.
1954: Lawrence R. Budge elected to serve as President of the Idaho Honey Producers Association.
1959: Lawrence Budge elected to serve as President of the American Beekeeper Federation.
1961: Lawrence Budge Jr. (Larry) expands Budge’s Honey in Two Dot, Montana
1967: Lawrence Budge Jr. and Wayne J. Budge featured on the cover of Idaho Farmer Magazine.
1974: Kentucky Fried Chicken selected Budge’s Honey as it’s supplier of honey for the packets that they included with their biscuits.
1979: First Place at American Honey Show in Philiadelphia, Pa.
1979: Lawrence Budge Sr. retires and hands the reigns of the Malad operation to his son Wayne J. Budge.
1981: Lowell Budge expands distribution to Northern California under the private label, “The Honey Man.”
1983: First Place at the American Honey Show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
1985: Larry Budge retires and hands the reigns of the Montana Operation over to Dean Thompson.
2010: Budge’s Golden Sunshine Honey established in Pleasant Grove, Utah by Grandchildren of Lawrence Sr. with a simple mandate; To continue the great Budge’s Honey Legacy of uncompromising quality and unmatched taste.
